16.05.2025 16:29A court in Vinnytsia has closed the case regarding the division of property between Petro and Maryna Poroshenko, citing the absence of an actual legal dispute.
Suspilne reports.
During the hearing, Maryna Poroshenko’s lawyer confirmed that the lawsuit had been filed in order to gain access to assets that had been frozen due to sanctions imposed by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) against the former president.
“Maryna Poroshenko is not under sanctions and has every right to her share of the property acquired during the marriage. That is precisely why we filed the claim for division,” said attorney Kristina Mysenko.
According to the financial disclosure, the couple’s joint assets amount to 17.1 billion hryvnias.
Poroshenko’s legal team intends to file an appeal.
As a reminder, Maryna Poroshenko filed the property division lawsuit in late April.
In February, the NSDC imposed sanctions against former President Petro Poroshenko, who is also currently the subject of ongoing criminal investigations.
His lawyer previously stated that the sanctions have created obstacles for Poroshenko’s potential presidential candidacyas the leader of the European Solidarity party in future elections.
