Ombudsman Lubinets called on law enforcement to investigate the violent arrest of a man by the police in Chernivtsi
05.07.2024 - 12:43A court in Mykolaiv overturned a fine of 25,500 hryvnias (582 euros) issued by the territorial recruitment center to a man for failing to update his records regarding his wife, children and change of employment.
This was reported by the “Judicial-Legal Newspaper,” citing the court registry.
The court noted that a person cannot be fined for failing to report information that is available in other registries.
At the end of May, the man was brought to the territorial recruitment center by a patrol police unit. It was revealed that he had not visited the recruitment center to update his information since October 2009. During this period, he got married, had children and changed jobs.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has stated that after July 16, military personnel can only be fined after verifying whether the necessary information is available in other registries and summoning them to the territorial recruitment center.
If the required information is missing from the registry, such as a military registration specialty that can only be added by an employee of the territorial recruitment center, the citizen must visit the recruitment office to update these details.
Previously, a lawyer explained that men who fail to report to the territorial recruitment center may receive summonses an unlimited number of times, even if they have already paid a fine for a previous summons.
