The current goal of the Russian army is not a large-scale offensive but the exhaustion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Maliar has revealed the new tactics of the Russian army. Their current objective is to thoroughly exhaust the Ukrainian forces.

The strategy involves preventing the VSU from creating ammunition reserves, hindering their equipment preparation, and breaking them down mentally. The Russians are acting to impede Ukraine from recovering promptly, stated the former official.

Simultaneously, the Russians are conserving their personnel by employing tactics of storming with small groups, forcing the VSU to expend a significant amount of ammunition. Additionally, Russia has begun forming new units, indicating, according to Maliar, preparation for the next stage of military actions. As per Zelensky’s perspective, Russia has planned “global actions” after the presidential elections scheduled for March. Until that time, Russia intends only “tactical victories.”
