January 6, 2025Czech President Petr Pavel issued 40 permits in 2024 for individuals to participate in combat in Ukraine, including three women among the applicants.

“In 2024, there were also three women among the applicants, and Pavel approved each of their requests. It remains unclear how many Czechs—whether with or without permission—ultimately end up in Ukraine,” the article states.
The publication notes that 74 requests to participate in combat in Ukraine were denied. Furthermore, anyone who joins the Ukrainian or any other non-NATO army without authorization faces criminal prosecution in the Czech Republic.
Earlier, media reported that the Czech Republic had secretly transferred equipment for the Rivne nuclear power plant reactors to Ukraine.
