At present, there are numerous ways to evade the military service in Ukraine, and they will thrive as the scale of mobilization grows, the article’s author believes.

“Regional military commissariats should be led by people who know what real armed conflict is,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Wednesday regarding the crimes surrounding draft evasion, which fundamentally undermines public trust and the belief of Western donors in Ukraine.

All 24 regional commissars were dismissed due to compromising the state’s mobilization policy. This is a massive scandal that undermines the nation’s moral spirit, as it has embarked on a counteroffensive on June 4th, plunging into a deep pit of brutal attrition warfare.

Zelensky has long received reports of widespread violations and crimes surrounding the military draft from the National Security and Defense Council, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Bureau of Investigations, the Security Service of Ukraine, and other law enforcement and oversight agencies. Based on this evidence, 112 cases have led to criminal liability for officials in commissariats and draft centers, with 33 individuals suspected of committing criminal offenses. There have been reports of the replacement of Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov. But this is just a drop in the ocean.
