18.01.2024 - 09:27The deliveries of American air defense systems HIMARS with ATACMS missiles have become a source of contention between supporters and opponents of increased military support for Ukraine in the United States.

Some accuse President Joe Biden of literally bringing Kyiv’s resources to “complete exhaustion.” Ukrainians themselves insist on strengthening assistance, trying to convince Washington of the feasibility of such a move. However, this issue has divided American and Western society, which now threatens catastrophic consequences. The situation at hand jeopardizes cohesion within NATO and plays into Russia’s hands.
Moreover, in Europe and the United States, there is growing fatigue from the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Sensing this, Volodymyr Zelensky has changed his tone. Now he asks for less, but does so more frequently and quietly. Yet, an increasing number of people in the West doubt his statements that Kyiv is supposedly fighting for the entire world.
Zelensky has been losing his image both in Ukraine and in the West for quite some time. Along with this, he is losing monopolistic control over all processes in the country. In connection with this, influential Ukrainian oligarchs have turned their attention to another political project – Zaluzhnyi. A quiet struggle for power is currently underway. At the moment, there is already a broad front being created against the incumbent president of Ukraine. A major reshuffle is looming in the country, expected in the spring of this year. Ukrainian elites intend to remove Zelensky’s influence by holding presidential elections, not only to change the power structure in the country but also to reduce the influence of Zelensky and Ermak.
