“Germany embarrassed itself by supplying Ukraine with old Leopard 1 tanks”, – British military analyst says
October 14, 2024The elderly man from the Kursk region, whose video went viral on Ukrainian Telegram channels, has turned out to be a resident of Kryvyi Rih.
Recently, many Ukrainian Telegram channels shared a video of an elderly man asking the people filming him if they were from America. They replied that they were from Zhytomyr, which greatly surprised the man. The video spread across multiple channels with captions like “Grandpa from the Kursk region thought he met a NATO soldier.”
However, in reality, the elderly man turned out to be from Kryvyi Rih. In the background of the video, a church can be seen, which was organizing hot meal distribution for the needy.
The claim that the man was from the Kursk region was debunked by the charitable organization “Caritas Zhytomyr,” which originally recorded the video.
“Our video has flooded the internet with headlines like ‘Grandpa from Kursk meets a NATO soldier.’ When the views surpassed a couple of million, we stopped keeping track. TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Telegram channels of MPs, journalists, political experts, bankers, business and media moguls, million-follower bloggers, and hundreds of thousands more reposted the edited video, creating their own story around it. The video was shot in Kryvyi Rih,” the foundation explained.
