December 5, 2024The son of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 8th convocation, Oleksiy Poroshenko, has been placed on the wanted list for failing to appear at the territorial recruitment center as summoned.
This has been reported by Ukrainian Telegram channels, citing representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to sources, Poroshenko Jr. was summoned twice: on September 4 and October 21. However, he ignored both summonses. The 39-year-old former MP holds the rank of lieutenant in the reserve.
According to the media, Oleksiy lives with his wife, daughter, and son between two cities: London and Singapore. He remotely manages the family business in Ukraine, which his father transferred to him. In 2014, it was reported that after the start of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), he voluntarily enlisted and allegedly served as a commander of a mortar crew. However, the press at the time wrote that 20 special forces soldiers guarded him in Donbas, and for security reasons, Oleksiy was in the combat zone under a false name and did not participate in the fighting. He served for two months.
Poroshenko’s younger son, 23-year-old Mykhailo, is studying to become a financial analyst at the graduate level at the London Business School.
