September 28, 2023The two-year-old German Shepherd of U.S. President Joe Biden, named Commander, bit a Secret Service agent working in the presidential security.
This information reported by NBC News, citing a Secret Service spokesperson.
This marks the eleventh such incident since October 2022, in which the President’s dog has attacked someone.
The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, September 25th. The female officer received medical assistance from the White House medical team.
The following day, First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, stated through her press secretary that the White House can be a stressful environment for pets. However, she and her husband are trying to help Commander adjust better to life at the presidential residence.
“The President and First Lady are very grateful to the Secret Service and White House staff for all they do for their safety, the safety of their family, and the safety of the entire country,” the statement said.
Previously, the Bidens had issues with another dog, Major, which had to be relocated to Delaware after multiple incidents involving attacks on people at the White House.
