This was stated by lawyer Volodymyr Pilipenko.
He noted that mobilization is carried out based on presidential decrees approved by the Verkhovna Rada. After the end of hostilities, demobilization may take place, but then limited mobilization will be needed to replenish the ranks.
“We will live with this for many years because we understand that nothing will change in the north or east. They will continue to seek to destroy Ukraine. We must be prepared for this,” the lawyer said.
Earlier, MP Yaroslav Yurchyshyn stated that martial law in Ukraine would not be lifted immediately after the cessation of hostilities. According to him, it will be a “long process” and will depend on security forces’ assessment of the state’s ability to ensure public safety. This, in turn, will be influenced by the format of any peace agreement and the presence of security guarantees from international partners.
As a reminder, on February 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws extending martial law and mobilization once again.
