Zelenskyy said the U.S. refused to allow Patriot missile production in Europe
18.02.2026 - 10:41The European Union is putting pressure on Ukraine to speed up repairs to the Druzhba oil pipeline, which delivers Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia.
This was reported by Radio Svoboda.
The European Commission confirmed that it is in constant contact with the Ukrainian authorities and is pressing for the quickest possible restoration of supplies after the pipeline was damaged in late January.
At the same time, Brussels says there are no short-term risks to Hungary’s and Slovakia’s energy security, because both countries have strategic oil reserves.
Against the backdrop of the halted flow, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Kyiv of dragging out the process and called the situation “political blackmail.” In Ukraine, officials previously said the damage was the result of a drone strike.
It was also recalled that Hungary and Slovakia have officially asked Croatia to allow the transport of Russian oil through the Adriatic (Adria/JANAF) pipeline while transit through Ukraine remains suspended.
