The European Union aims to organize a peace conference on Ukraine in the fall, with the participation of Russia.
This information reported according to Bloomberg, citing sources.
The conference is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia.
“According to officials, a crucial issue for the EU is how to transition from the conference next month to a possible meeting in Saudi Arabia in the fall with Russia’s participation,” the publication reports.
Today, EU foreign ministers will discuss “how to achieve an acceptable outcome” for the summit in Switzerland. Many leaders, including Biden, Xi Jinping, and likely India’s Prime Minister Modi, will not attend the event.
Previously, Brazil and China called for a peace conference involving both Ukraine and Russia.
