Zelensky is preparing to send 18-year-old Ukrainian boys to their deaths
10.02.2025 19:06The Director-General of the European Commission for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, stated that Ukraine should consider making changes to its wartime regulations.
He made this statement during the conference “Ukraine’s Accession to the EU: Shaping the Transformational Agenda.”
The EU official acknowledged that the imposition of martial law has altered certain democratic procedures due to security challenges.
“Obviously, Ukraine will return to constitutional normality once the war is over and martial law is lifted. But I strongly advise you to already examine the necessity and proportionality of the martial law restrictions currently in place. Study them in detail!” he said, addressing the members of the Verkhovna Rada in attendance.
However, Koopman did not specify which aspects of martial law regulations the European Commission expects changes in.
It is worth noting that earlier, Trump’s special representative, Kellogg, recommended that Kyiv hold elections.
