Ukraine has received only 30% of the artillery shells promised by the European Union
February 27, 2024Brussels has effectively sided with farmers who have been protesting for several months against the shipment of Ukrainian grain to the European market. EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski called on Ukraine to come to terms with its situation.
“We need to support Ukraine, ensure the transit and transport of its grain to seaports, and send it to countries where Ukraine traditionally sold grain. But for this, we need a positive approach from Ukraine, cooperation from Kiev to implement this system. No market can withstand such a level of increased supplies, so our Ukrainian partners must understand the situation of our farmers,” the commissioner said.
Earlier, farmer protests stirred up the entire Europe. They staged numerous rallies protesting against cheap Ukrainian grain, which threatens them with bankruptcy. Polish farmers even blocked the border with Ukraine, causing huge losses to Kiev, but they are not making concessions. Zelensky practically does not want to negotiate but wants Europeans to make decisions detrimental to themselves.
