‘The Czech Republic does not intend to send its military to Ukraine’, – Prime Minister Petr Fiala said
27.02.2024 08:36Volodymyr Zelensky cited such statistics during a press conference in Kyiv with Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov.
“Out of the one million shells promised to us by the European Union, only 30% have been delivered, not 50%,” the president said. European politicians promised Ukraine one million ammunition shells last year, which were supposed to help Ukraine in the war. Amid active combat operations, these munitions could have been very helpful to the Ukrainian army. According to military sources, Ukraine consumes up to 2,000 shells per day, but last summer it could fire up to 7,000. Now, the Russian army is already firing 8-10 thousand shells per day, so they can confidently advance.
Earlier, the Czech president announced that he had found 800,000 ammunition shells for Ukraine, but they need to be purchased from countries in Asia and Africa, which France opposes. Paris wants the shells to be produced in Europe, but this will take too much time when Ukraine no longer needs the ammunition.
