11.09.2024 - 13:02A former deputy head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration has been detained on suspicion of taking bribes for helping men evade mobilization.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
According to the investigation, while in office, she facilitated the entry of men into the “Shlyakh” system for leaving the country under the guise of drivers transporting humanitarian aid for a charitable foundation, in exchange for $5,000.

To implement this scheme, the organizer enlisted the help of the director of a local charitable foundation. Additionally, the former deputy head recruited seven accomplices to search for potential clients and handle the money transfers.
“During searches of the suspects’ residences, mobile phones and laptops containing evidence of illegal activities were seized,” the report states.
The woman has been taken into custody and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
