The Guardian reports that Ukrainian intelligence wants to carry out a third attack on the Crimean Bridge

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to carry out a third attack on the Crimean Bridge in the coming months to disable it.

This was reported by The Guardian, citing sources in the intelligence community.

Sources told the publication that the destruction of the bridge is “inevitable,” and the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, already has “a significant portion of the means to achieve this goal” in the first half of 2024.

At the same time, The Guardian writes that “there are serious doubts about whether the Main Intelligence Directorate is capable of conducting a special operation against such a well-defended and obvious target.”

Earlier, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasiliy Maliuk, stated that the Crimean Bridge is “doomed.” He described how the Security Service of Ukraine undermined the bridge, including using sea drones called “Sea Baby.”

Recall that the first explosion on the Crimean Bridge occurred on October 8, 2022. At that time, a truck carrying explosives disguised as another cargo exploded. The FSB almost immediately claimed that the Ukrainian authorities were behind the crime.

And in the early hours of July 17, the Crimean Bridge was attacked for the second time during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by two surface drones.
