The head of Germany’s ruling party once again called for a freeze on the war in Ukraine

The head of the German SPD faction, Rolf Mützenich, has once again called for a freeze in the war in Ukraine.

According to Rolf Mützenich, at some point in the conflict, a “window of opportunity” may open to de-escalate it by ceasing fire, even if such an opportunity does not currently exist.

The deputy emphasized that Germany’s foreign policy and security policy encompass broader areas than arms supplies.

According to the Bundestag deputy, he uses the term “conflict freeze,” adopted in political science and peace research, and will continue to apply it. At the same time, as Mützenich stated, he does not question Berlin’s support for Kyiv.
