The Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally assured him that Ukrainian forces would not directly bomb or shell the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
The Guardian reported his statement.
“President Zelenskyy personally assured me that Ukrainian military forces would not directly bomb or shell the ZNPP,” said the IAEA chief. Grossi also mentioned that all other options were being considered, as noted by Zelenskyy.
Previously, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, stated that Russia is satisfied with the activities of the IAEA. According to him, the agency’s mission at the ZNPP aligns with Moscow’s interests. Additionally, he emphasized that Grossi maintains a neutral position regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
