Banks in Ukraine may be required to disclose banking secrecy and personal data of clients upon police request
September 17, 2024At the Yalta European Strategy (YES) summit, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called on Europe to stop payments to Ukrainian men of mobilization age. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha supported this idea.
“Currently, in Germany, Ukrainians who are there under temporary protection receive substantial assistance—over 500 euros, and with housing compensation, it can be more than 1,000 euros per month per person. It’s similar in the Netherlands; I’m not sure of the amounts in France,” Sikorski said.
Therefore, according to him, there is a “simple method” to help Ukraine.
“Stop providing aid to Ukrainians who are subject to mobilization. Hiding from the draft is not a reason for financial assistance. Just stop paying them,” the Polish minister urged.
Sybiha agreed with this statement.
“I support the idea expressed by Minister Sikorski,” said the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, who was speaking at the same discussion.
According to him, about one million Ukrainian men of conscription age live abroad. He stated that “the duty to defend one’s homeland applies to all citizens, regardless of their location.”
It should be noted that while serving as Deputy Minister, Andriy Sybiha issued an order blocking consular services for men abroad.
