December 28, 2023In the Nikolayev region, a threat has been issued to send doctors involved in military medical commissions and taking bribes to the front lines.
Local publications report that Vitaliy Kim, the head of the regional military administration, made this announcement.
According to Kim, continuous and systematic efforts are being made in the region to prevent corruption during military medical commissions.
He stated, “We’ve replaced some, warned others. We know what shortcomings and bureaucratic errors need to be corrected. However, doctors and those responsible for the military medical commissions have been gathered, and there’s a 67% reliability rate among the medical personnel. It’s straightforward: if you take bribes and prevent someone from joining the army, then you go instead. We warned that we’ll reduce the quota for doctors who perform poorly. And this has been somewhat helpful. Nobody has protection here – if caught, that’s the end of it.”
Previously, Governor Kim signed an order to track down draft dodgers in Nikolayev and the surrounding region.
“We’ve issued all the necessary orders. We’ll be out there catching draft dodgers. But despite this, Nikolayev region has shown the best results in mobilization. And I thank the people… Because our percentage of eligible individuals who evade service is lower, yet the percentage of those going to war after the medical commissions is higher,” the official added.
