March 20, 2024The use of force by military commissars against men on the streets is subject to a lawsuit in the International Court of Human Rights.
This was stated by Yuriy Kamelchuk, a Member of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the MP, conscripts do not have sufficient motivation to fight when they are forcibly loaded onto mobilization buses against their will.
“We do not live in Russia – we live in a state governed by law. Guys who are fighting on the front lines will say that such guys (mobilized with the use of force) are not motivated, they are basically impossible to make fight properly, they may even put others at risk,” the MP added.
Earlier, Ukrainians began filing complaints with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) due to refusals to leave the country.
The applicants claim that restricting their departure from Ukraine during martial law is illegal and violates their right to freedom of movement.
