Moscow accused the Ukrainian authorities of stalling peace talks
October 1, 2025Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the former UK defense secretary Ben Wallace’s call to make Crimea “uninhabitable” foolish.
TASS reports his remarks.
Peskov said the Kremlin does not consider it necessary to comment on statements by former Western officials directed at Moscow. Instead, he urged attention be paid to the words of serving ministers.
“As for former defense ministers, especially those who make such foolish statements — we do not consider it necessary to comment on them,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Former UK defense minister Ben Wallace, speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, urged that Crimea be made “uninhabitable.” In particular, he proposed providing Ukraine with long-range weapons and using long-range missiles to destroy the Crimean Bridge.
