“Ukraine needs not military guarantees, but adherence to a policy of neutrality,” – said an American economist
02.09.2025 10:01During the meeting in Alaska, U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin did not agree on holding talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—neither bilateral nor trilateral.
This was stated by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
“Everyone is now talking about a trilateral meeting, about a meeting between Putin and Zelensky. But as far as I know, no such agreement was reached between Putin and Trump,” he said.
It should be recalled that another two-week deadline of Trump’s ultimatum on progress in peace negotiations has already expired.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Putin was ready to meet Zelensky only after all negotiation issues had been thoroughly worked out.
Meanwhile, the U.S. president said that a meeting between Zelensky and Putin was already in preparation.
