October 30, 2023The majority of surveyed Ukrainians are against holding elections in Ukraine until the end of the war.
62% of those surveyed said that any elections should be held after the conclusion of the war, regardless of how long that might take. 22% stated that elections should be held in March 2024 according to the schedule. 6% favored elections in the following September and 3% in March 2025. 6% were undecided.
The residents of the eastern regions aged 18-35 are the group most eager to have elections within the next six months. However, overall, in all regions and across all age groups, the majority of respondents are against holding elections before the war ends.
Of those who expressed support for holding elections during the ongoing conflict, 39% believe that presidential elections should be conducted, 20% prefer parliamentary elections and 15% opt for local elections.
