December 10, 2024Commander of the 108th Separate Mechanized Battalion “Da Vinci Wolves,” Serhiy Filimonov, accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) leadership of contributing to Russian advances near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
He expressed his frustration on platform X (formerly Twitter):
“The main reason for the disaster on the Pokrovsk front is the senior command, which assigns unrealistic tasks to the units. Generals who do not understand the capabilities of the units and are unaware of the situation on the front line,” the soldier wrote.
Currently, fighting in this area is taking place south of Dachenske, with the next Russian target likely to be Chunishyne, according to a fighter with the call sign “Muchnoy.”
Battalion commander Stanislav Bunyatov warned that the loss of Pokrovsk would pave the way for Russian forces to advance into the Dnipropetrovsk region. He added that such an advance could accelerate due to the region’s less dense network of villages compared to Donetsk. Bunyatov believes that if Russian forces enter Dnipropetrovsk, they may demand the region’s complete transfer to Russian control.
It is worth noting that Moscow has already set the surrender of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions as a condition for peace talks.
Yesterday, reports indicated that Russian forces had taken control of the large village of Shevchenko on the Pokrovsk front.
