The Minister of Defense of Germany stated that Germany is not a ally of Ukraine

The Minister of Defense of Germany, Boris Pistorius, stated that Germany is not an ally of Ukraine.

He made these remarks in an interview with ZDF.

“We do what we can. The same applies to almost all other allies and partners. Firstly, we are not Ukraine’s ally. We are not part of the same alliance,” said Pistorius.

This comment was in response to criticism regarding insufficient and slow weapon deliveries.

It was previously reported that Germany intends to reduce the amount it allocates to the European Union fund for purchasing weapons for Ukraine. In a confidential document, Berlin asks the European Peace Facility to take into account the billions of dollars in military aid that Germany has donated to Kyiv on a bilateral basis.
