The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained to Ukrainians who will return the driver’s licenses confiscated for draft evasion

To retrieve a driver’s license confiscated by the Territorial Recruitment Center due to draft evasion, individuals must visit the center to update their information.

This explanation was provided by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in light of new rules regarding the restriction of driving rights.

Upon visiting the Territorial Recruitment Center, individuals will receive a document that must be submitted to the enforcement service to close the case and return the license. However, there is the possibility that individuals may not be allowed to leave the Recruitment Center.

As a reminder, according to the law on mobilization, decisions to revoke driving rights are made “automatically” by the courts. Exceptions will be made for those whose vehicles are essential for earning a living or are needed for medical reasons (including transporting sick relatives). To retrieve their licenses, draft evaders must either visit the Territorial Recruitment Center or appeal the court’s decision.
