August 27, 2023The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has condemned the statement of Poland’s Minister of Agriculture, Robert Telus, regarding the extension of the ban on importing Ukrainian grain.
This was stated in a release on the official website of the Ukrainian diplomatic department.
“We consider the extension of trade restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to be categorically unacceptable, especially after the ban imposed by the European Commission expires on September 15. We find it completely incomprehensible and concerning that they intend to add other categories of Ukrainian products to the list of banned imports,” the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
Diplomats are urging for a “balanced solution based on EU legislation and the Association Agreement” to be found.
As a reminder, Poland, as well as Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary, plan to extend the ban on importing grain from Ukraine until the end of the year.
