October 1, 2024The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities in Ukraine has approved an increase in the maximum electricity prices.
This information was reported by the regulator’s press service.
It was stated that this decision “will not affect the fixed electricity rates for the population” and is driven by the need to create conditions for commercial electricity imports from Europe to cover potential shortages during the winter.
The proposed maximum prices for the “day-ahead market” and the intraday market are as follows:
- From 00:00 to 07:00 – 5,600 UAH/MWh
- From 07:00 to 17:00 and from 23:00 to 24:00 – 6,900 UAH/MWh
- From 17:00 to 23:00 – 9,000 UAH/MWh
- The minimum price limit is set at 10 UAH/MWh.
It is proposed to increase the maximum price in the time interval from 11:00 to 17:00 from the current 5,600 UAH to 6,900 UAH per MWh.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine promised not to raise electricity tariffs until May 1, 2025.
It is worth recalling that electricity prices were increased by 64% on June 1, reaching 4.32 UAH/kWh.
