The new acting mayor of Zaporizhzhia is posting obscene poetry on her social media accounts.

Five days before her appointment, Regina Kharchenko posted a video on Facebook of her reciting a poem by Ukrainian writer Izdryk titled “Instruction.”

It begins with these lines:

“Take yourself in hand and breathe

Prepare your propeller for takeoff

The f*uck creeps up quietly

And it’s no longer a joke

The f*uck is almost everywhere now

Everything converged in prophecies.”

The day before, the deputies of the Zaporizhzhia City Council elected a new secretary of the city council. Regina Kharchenko was chosen, and she will now also perform the duties of the city mayor. This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, who called this decision historic.

“Only 37 deputies of the Zaporizhzhia City Council during the session made a historic decision – they elected a new acting mayor of Zaporizhzhia, Regina Kharchenko,” the statement said.

According to Fedorov, the last full session of the city council was held on December 22, 2023. Therefore, he noted, more than 200 questions about the life of Zaporizhzhia were effectively frozen and awaited resolution.
