04.04.2025 - 07:59The number of Ukrainian women in Poland who wish to return home after the war has significantly decreased over the past six months.
This was reported by the local publication Rzeczpospolita, citing data from a survey conducted among Ukrainian female refugees.
Currently, 31% of respondents said they plan to return, whereas in the fall of last year, that number was 41%. Another third of Ukrainian women said they would like to stay in Poland permanently, and 13% want to obtain Polish citizenship.
Among the conditions for returning to Ukraine, women cited a complete end to the war (61%), cessation of hostilities and airstrikes (40%), availability of well-paying jobs (34%), and elimination of corruption (31%).
Only 5% of respondents listed the expiration of their temporary residence permits in Poland as a reason for returning, and only 1% mentioned the end of social benefits.
According to the study, Ukrainian female refugees in Poland are predominantly middle-class women, most of whom are employed (60%), although often in jobs that do not match their qualifications.
Earlier, The Economist reported that Ukrainian refugees may remain in Europe permanently.
