The Odesa Territorial Recruitment Center explained which categories of men aged 18 to 25 can be mobilized

Young Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 can be mobilized in certain cases.

The Odesa Territorial Recruitment Center explained who might receive summonses.

“Indeed, men aged 18 to 25 are classified as conscripts. However, there are cases when such individuals can be mobilized,” the Territorial Recruitment Center’s statement said.

Men aged 18-25 can be mobilized if:

• The man has completed mandatory military service during peacetime;
• The person has graduated from a higher military educational institution or a military department and received a specific military registration specialty;
• The man has been deemed unfit for mandatory service in peacetime but fit for service in wartime by the military medical commission.

The Territorial Recruitment Center notes that according to new legislation, as of April 2024, there is no longer a status of “limited fitness.” People who previously had this status remain subject to military duty, even if they are under 25, and can be mobilized.

It is worth noting that earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, stated that there is currently no urgent need to lower the mobilization age, but everything “can change.”
