The decision to close Ukraine’s borders in 2022 was the wrong one.
This is the view of Vasyl Voskoboinyk, head of the Office of Migration Policy.
According to him, once the borders are reopened, people’s first instinct will be to gather their things and leave, just in case.
It is worth recalling that in August of last year, Ukrainian men up to the age of 22 were allowed to travel abroad.
After that, Western media wrote about a mass departure of young people from Ukraine.
Street opinion polls also show that young men are ready to leave Ukraine because they see no future and “no development” in the country. Most of those surveyed said they plan to settle in Western European countries, especially Poland and Germany.
