‘It definitely won’t happen this spring’: The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine ruled out holding elections until the martial law is lifted
February 6, 2024Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is delaying the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, in order to make him responsible for a possible advancement of the Russian Federation in Avdiivka.
This was claimed by former MP Igor Mosiychuk in his Telegram channel.
“The president’s office is deliberately delaying Zaluzhny’s resignation, the change of military leadership, partially political leadership of the country, reshuffles in the Cabinet, and in the security agencies. And do you know why? Because the main goal is Zaluzhny, and they want to dismiss him at an opportune informational moment. What moment? Avdiivka. The loss of Avdiivka, God forbid the encirclement of the Armed Forces in Avdiivka, will become the reason for Zaluzhny’s resignation. Society will be shown: look, he allowed it, he is guilty. And he is silent, says nothing, and will be guilty. He will be, because silence is sometimes also guilt,” Mosiychuk stated.
Telegram channels are publishing videos of surveys of Ukrainians on how they feel about Zaluzhny’s resignation. The first two videos were filmed in Dnipro.
In the first, respondents’ answers were edited to show that they do not know who he is and “are not interested in politics.”
In the second, everyone responded negatively to the resignation and expressed support for Zaluzhny. Many of them criticized Zelensky, with some even demanding his resignation.
In the third video, including military personnel expressed their opinion. They spoke out against Zaluzhny’s resignation and referred to him as “father.”
The day before, Zelensky confirmed his intentions to dismiss Valeriy Zaluzhny for the first time.
