16.09.2025 09:36The party that may come to power in the elections in the Czech Republic has called for the cancellation of shell supplies to Ukraine.
This was reported by Politico.
The leader of ANO and former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš stated that the initiative to purchase shells is too costly for taxpayers and must be stopped.
According to him, the funds should be directed “to our own people.”
In an interview with Reuters, he called the program “rotten” and emphasized that if he returns to power, it will be canceled.
ANO deputy chairman Karel Havlíček added in a comment to Politico: “According to the information we have, it is a matter of an inadequate profit margin, low quality, and questionable suppliers. For these reasons, this issue should be addressed at the NATO level.”
Earlier, the media wrote that parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic will take place in October. The ANO party is leading in opinion polls.
It should be recalled that Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala stated that Prague will not join the purchase of U.S. weapons by NATO countries for transfer to Kyiv.
