The oppositional deputy Alexander Dubinsky was brutally beaten in pre-trial detention
December 2, 2023A petition proposing the mobilization of Ukrainian lawmakers and officials has almost gathered the required number of votes to be considered by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
With five days remaining before the deadline, 23,000 votes have been collected out of the required 25,000.
“The media has repeatedly reported a shortage of military personnel for rotations and the replenishment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Mobilizing members of parliament and government officials of different levels will help equalize conditions for all citizens and contribute to victory over the terrorist state,” the petition rationale states.
The petition was submitted by Member of Parliament Alexander Dubinsky, who is currently in pre-trial detention on suspicion of state treason.
Earlier, media reported that a petition addressed to Zelensky advocating for the demobilization of soldiers after 18 months of service had gathered the necessary number of votes. The possibility of granting soldiers the right to demobilization is currently being discussed in the Parliament.
