06.11.2025 12:01Polish President Karol Nawrocki said that Ukraine is ungrateful to his country.
Nawrocki stressed that supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia does not exempt Poland from defending its own interests, and he recalled “old problems,” including the exhumation in Volhynia of the victims of the massacre and disputes over grain exports.
“Helping Ukraine and having a clear position on whom we support in this conflict after the Russian Federation’s attack on Ukraine does not relieve me, as President of Poland, of the need to demand the resolution of Polish issues on the international stage in relations with Ukraine. The lack of gratitude toward the Polish people, unresolved matters concerning exhumations in Volhynia, and the agricultural crisis that has engulfed Poland are issues that remain important,” the president said.
As a reminder, disputes around the export of Ukrainian agricultural products and their import into Poland are tied to Warsaw’s introduction of an open-ended embargo on Ukrainian grain imports. The ban was justified by Polish farmers’ concerns that cheap Ukrainian grain reduces their income and undermines the sustainability of agriculture.
Earlier we reported that after his inauguration, Nawrocki called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to begin exhuming the bodies of the victims of the Volhynia massacre.
