17.09.2025 07:31The Polish Senate has voted without amendments for a bill that preserves the “800+” benefit only for working Ukrainians.
This was reported by the portal Polskie Radio.
As a reminder, the current version of the law, under which Ukrainian refugees received 800 zlotys (about €188) per child regardless of any conditions, was vetoed by Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
The new version makes this assistance conditional on official employment and an official income of at least half the minimum wage. Under these conditions, the Polish parliament has extended refugee status for Ukrainians until March 4, 2026.
The document is awaiting the president’s signature, Polskie Radio adds.
Earlier, the Polish parliament adopted a law changing the rules for paying the “800+” benefit to Ukrainian refugees. 227 deputies voted in favor, 194 were against, and seven abstained.
Previously, the “800+” benefit was provided to all families with children – they received an allowance of 800 zlotys for each child under the age of 18.
As a reminder, Polskie Radio reported that President Nawrocki’s veto could create difficulties for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians.
