Polish authorities do not intend to transfer modern weaponry that they are acquiring for their own military to Ukraine.
President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, made this statement during an interview on the TVN24 channel, as reported by Bloomberg.
“We cannot transfer our new weapons, which we are acquiring to strengthen Poland’s security or modernize the Polish army,” Duda stated during his visit to New York.
However, he added that Poland may consider sending its older weaponry to Ukraine at a later time.
It’s worth noting that the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, had previously announced that Warsaw had stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine because Poland was actively rearming itself.
