November 27, 2023Ukraine won’t succeed in defeating Russia on the battlefield. The West and the European Union made a ‘strategic mistake’ by deciding to assist Kyiv”.
This information stated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a speech, the recording of which was published on the social network by Zoltan Kovacs, the official representative of the Hungarian government.
Orban mentioned that the European Union’s decision to support Ukraine at the beginning of the conflict with Russia was “strategically mistaken.”
“Our strategy was based on the belief that Ukrainians would fight and win on the battlefield, while the Russians would lose. Their defeat would lead to a change in leadership in Moscow. It is now clear that Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia on the battlefield. Political changes in Moscow are also not to be expected. We need to look at reality,” stated the Hungarian Prime Minister.
❗️@PM_ViktorOrban: Where we are now, it's obvious that the Ukrainians will not win on the frontline. There is no solution on the battleground. Russians will not lose. There will be no political change in Moscow. This is the reality. pic.twitter.com/d3bMes1KLX

At the same time, Orban believes that in 2014, the West made a “strategically correct” decision when it facilitated the signing of the Minsk agreements, and he referred to the occupation of Crimea as the “Crimean crisis.”
Earlier, Viktor Orban had mentioned that Ukraine’s victory over Russia was impossible due to differences in mobilization reserves. And recently, the Hungarian Prime Minister threatened to block all European Union assistance to Ukraine, as well as the country’s future accession to the EU, if the leaders of the European Union do not agree to reconsider their entire strategy of supporting Kyiv.
