The reputation of the United States now depends on the Ukrainian army

Successes of Ukraine in the conflict with Russia have become a matter of trust in the U.S., said Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in an interview with CNBC.

According to him, if the White House stops supporting Kiev, American allies around the world will start hedging their bets. In recent months, assistance to Ukraine has sparked fierce debates in Congress. The new $61 billion aid package is currently blocked by Republicans in the House of Representatives, although it has been approved by the Senate.

A large amount of American and other Western weaponry has already gained a bad reputation due to destruction. Furthermore, Washington’s allies will start thinking that the U.S. may abandon anyone in trouble if they refuse to support Kiev now. However, to be precise, the U.S. has never had clear commitments and guarantees regarding Ukraine, whereas in the case of NATO, Washington is obligated to engage in war in the event of aggression.
