The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the war of the Ukrainian authorities against millions of their fellow citizens

By fighting against the use of the Russian language in Ukraine, Kyiv is waging war against millions of its own citizens who are its speakers.

This was stated during a weekly briefing by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

“Bankova supports these ‘conscripts’ who are fighting against peaceful citizens, Russian-language speakers, of whom there are millions in Ukraine,” the diplomat said.

She emphasized that Ukraine’s language policy has become a consequence of Kyiv’s defeat on the military front. Commenting on another initiative to ban the public use of the Russian language, Zakharova suggested that the logical conclusion of Ukrainian policy would be actions to physically tear the language out of Russian-speaking citizens.

Earlier, Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prykhodko was criticized by her compatriots for congratulating her husband on their wedding anniversary in Russian. The performer published a post on social media dedicated to the 12th anniversary of their marriage.
