25.09.2025 12:54Employees of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) have carried out new searches targeting former staff of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
This was reported on NABU’s social media pages.
According to the Bureau’s press service, the investigative actions were conducted against its former employees who are now working at Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways).
“The National Bureau informs that today the SBU is carrying out investigative actions against former NABU detectives (currently employees of Ukrzaliznytsia). Presumably, this is connected to their previous work in investigative teams that exposed organized crime groups in state enterprises and government bodies, including the SBU itself. Such actions may indicate increased systemic pressure on the independence of anti-corruption institutions,” NABU stated.
The SBU, in turn, declared that the searches concern the former NABU staff’s current work at Ukrzaliznytsia and have nothing to do with their anti-corruption background. The searches are being conducted in a case involving abuses in the cargo transportation sector.
It should be recalled that the President’s Office and the SBU have been engaged in a conflict with NABU for several months. In early September, the NABU director said the SBU was preparing new charges against Bureau detectives.
