05.02.2026 - 07:30On Thursday, February 5, in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), the second day of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States began. The parties are continuing to work in the same formats as the day before.
This was reported by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, who is heading the Ukrainian negotiating group. According to him, the working format is unchanged.
For that day, trilateral consultations were planned, alongside parallel work in separate groups, as well as further synchronization of the parties’ positions. The results and outcomes of the talks will be reported later.
“The second day of negotiations in Abu Dhabi has begun. We are working in the same formats as yesterday: trilateral consultations, work in groups, and further synchronization of positions. The results—later,” the head of the Ukrainian negotiating group said.
The latest round of talks on ending the Russia–Ukraine war took place on February 4. The meeting was held in a trilateral format with the participation of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.
The Ukrainian negotiating team includes Kyrylo Budanov, Davyd Arakhamia, Serhii Kyslytsia, Andrii Hnatov, Vadym Skibitskyi, and Oleksandr Bevz, alongside Umerov.
Among the U.S. delegation participants are Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Josh Gruenbaum, as well as Daniel Driscoll and General Alex Grynkewich. According to Umerov, “the Russian side was represented at a high military level.”
Umerov also noted that the consultations took place both in a joint format and in separate working groups by area, after which a renewed coordination of the parties’ positions was expected.
