An entrepreneur has been charged for supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a thousand defective FPV drones worth 16.4 million hryvnias (362,000 euros).
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
According to the investigation, the director of a private company from the Kyiv region won a tender from the Netishyn City Council to supply drones to the army. However, he installed low-quality navigation equipment on the drones, thereby reducing the cost of manufacturing the drones and embezzling nearly a third of the total tender amount.
The detained individual faces up to 12 years in prison.
It is worth noting that earlier, the media reported that a significant drone manufacturing industry had emerged in Ukraine, based on the work of many small enterprises. However, not all of them operate in good faith.
