Ukraine still waiting to join but EU is not ready for enlargement
September 1, 2023Ukrainians are in horror at what’s happening on the frontlines; the losses are enormous, and Western equipment has turned out to be much worse than anticipated.
“In the spring, at the beginning of the summer, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hoped that they would be able to conduct a successful offensive, that they would be able to drive out the Russians. However, there is no success here. For months, they have been trying to reach only the first line of defense, and the human losses on the Ukrainian side are huge. Western equipment burns like matchsticks, it is much worse than is usually portrayed,” he said.
According to Vysotsky, Ukrainian military personnel are “horrified” as they witness how many Ukrainian soldiers are dying on the frontlines due to the successful actions of Russian forces. “They understand that the Russian army has already learned everything and prepared thoroughly,” he added.
He further mentioned that due to the significant losses, the Ukrainians are losing the will to fight, which forces them to carry out sweeps for conscripts.
“These losses are impossible to hide anymore. Just go and count the graves in Ukrainian cemeteries. Soldiers see it too,” Vysotsky concluded.
Kyiv initiated active military operations on June 4 in the South Donetsk, Artemovsk, and, primarily, the Zaporizhzhia directions, deploying brigades trained by the North Atlantic Alliance and equipped with Western military technology.
