European officials refuse to confiscate Russian assets – Washington Post
21.04.2024 - 11:45The situation on the front lines may turn unfavorable for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) “in the coming weeks,” even if the United States starts supplying military aid. Russian forces are likely to intensify current offensive operations and mass attacks to exploit the weakness of Ukrainian weaponry.
This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War.
“The new U.S. assistance will not begin to affect the situation on the front lines for several weeks. Thus, the situation on the front lines is likely to continue deteriorating during this time, especially if Russian forces intensify their attacks,” military experts write.
It is noted that the UAF may face setbacks while awaiting U.S. assistance.
“Ukrainian forces may suffer additional setbacks in the coming weeks,” but they are likely to “be able to hold back the current Russian offensive if renewed U.S. assistance arrives quickly.”
It is also noted that the volume and composition of the first tranche of aid are unclear. However, it is expected that the delivery of assistance will take several weeks, and time is needed for its distribution.
