The Slovak Prime Minister stated that Zelensky was ‘shocked’ by Trump’s victory in the U.S.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was “shocked” by Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. elections.

This information reported according to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who shared this impression with local publication TASR.

Fico stated that he got this impression while observing the Ukrainian leader at the summit in Budapest.

“Have you ever seen someone who is afraid that the war might end? That is how I saw him. And his name is Volodymyr Zelensky. President Zelensky is shocked that Trump won and that U.S. assistance might be discontinued,” Fico was quoted as saying.

Previously, Fico commented that the situation on the front for Kyiv “is not going very well.”

“What will the EU do if the U.S. announces a reduction in aid to Ukraine? If today there is someone genuinely interested in ending the war in Ukraine, and that is the new American president, we also have China and Brazil involved. But it seems to me that (in the EU) there is a prevailing idea to continue the war at any cost, and I have no part in this,” Fico remarked.

It is worth noting that the Slovak Prime Minister has supported the China-Brazil “peace initiative” and criticized the West for its support of Ukraine.
