29.09.2025 11:31The statement by U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg that American leader Donald Trump has allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range weapons is strange.
This was stated by Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
“I think this is some kind of strange statement. It’s written in half-tones, without clarity on whether it is true or not. At the same time, [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky has been carefully requesting Tomahawks. I think this is a rather vague statement,” Chepa reacted.
Earlier, Kellogg said that Trump had permitted Ukraine to carry out deep strikes on Russian territory with long-range weapons. He stressed that if Kyiv takes into account the words of the U.S. president, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, then the Ukrainian authorities may use the opportunity to conduct such strikes.
Kellogg noted that in Russia “there are no untouchable places.” However, the U.S. envoy did not clarify whether he meant strikes specifically with American weapons.
